I was sitting down the other day… looking at my upcoming calendar, and I’ll be traveling at least once a month through September. Plus, I’ll have the girls here in Texas for a good part of the summer, I’ll be wrapping up the first draft of my current WIP, I’m eager to complete the book I was working on last October just before BAD LAND and its sequel sold (at the time, tentatively called DOWN HOME – yeah, that title probably sucks), and then I have another, completely new book I want to tackle as we gear up for BAD LAND’s release and the sequel’s edits.
Plus, I’ve been eyeing this website/blog for a while. I’m hoping that around the end of the year, I can do a complete ground-up overhaul.
With all of this ahead of me, I figure I’ll be cutting my “official” blogging back to once a month (first Tuesday of the month), rather than the more or less weekly (Sunday) schedule I’ve been on for the past two years. I still have my twice a month gig over at Pub Hub, but I’ll only have to worry about 3 posts a month rather than the 6 that I have now. That doesn’t mean I won’t throw out things that catch my attention when they do – particularly new books and authors I’ve come across – or updates about BAD LAND’s publication progress, but there’s no need to clutter bandwidth with just my random weekly musings.
I’m someone who works better with a full plate, and I generally believe there are always enough hours in the day, if you look hard enough. That being said, you still have to prioritize, and one of my priorities this year was getting out of Texas a bit more , and I will definitely be doing that. Making sure I stay on my writing schedule with those all those trips will quickly fill up my hours.
I’m on my way today to see MAD MAX: FURY ROAD. I can’t wait, and be sure to catch the movie BLACK SEA on iTunes. It’s a great adventure movie that I really enjoyed.
